NWA 6950 Lunar Meteorite End Cut Lunar (gabbro) Northwest Africa Found: 2011 This fragmental lunar gabbro, classified as NWA 6950, is both an unusually thick slab and an end-cut of sorts. Weighing 13.4 grams, this piece is relatively heavy for its size. A linear shock vein is prominent in the display surface which has an otherwise greenish-yellow coloration. This represents a small piece of the Moon and an example suitable for any novice collection in need of this type of meteorite. Found in 2011, the gabbroic material is bright and vivid for rock from the Earth's only natural satellite, the Moon. Two sides are flat and relatively smooth, while the other is rugged.
