He became best known with equestrian statues, especially his sculpture groups of presenting horse tamers, manufactured for the Anitchkov Bridge in St. Petersburg, are very famous. This sculpture is a smaller version of one of the monumental statues made for this bridge, installed in 1851. This variant was cast in Kasli in the Urals in 1987, famous for the iron castings of sculptors such as Klodt, Lanceray, etc. Signed in Cyrillic on top of the base. Kasli caster’s mark at the bottom of the base. The statue in excellent condition.
