Naar François Duquesnoy - Relief, Leather embossing, scene of 8 putti with goat - Leather, Wood - 18th century
Rare antique "leather embossing" French school of Italy. Depiction: bachanaal of eight putti around a goat. Freely based on a representation by François Duquesnoy (1597-1643) . François Duquesnoy or Frans Duquesnoy was a Flemish Baroque sculptor in Rome. His more idealized representations often contrast with the emotional nature of Bernini's works, while his style is more kinship with Algardi's sculptures. The leather is affected/disappeared here and there, see photos. 5-sided spectacle, set in a later wooden frame. Will of course be sent well packaged.
