Naive British School Maritime Painting

(19th century)Two Ships of the Line in Devonport Harbor, circa 1860, unsigned, label verso attributes the painting to J.H.Tyler, oil on canvas, 24 x 29 in.; modern painted wood frame, 27-3/8 x 29 in.Note:The label verso indicates that the two ships are the H.M.S. Lionÿand the H.M.S. Implacableÿin Devonport Harbor, circa 1860. However it seems unlikely as the ships depicted are both ships of the line with three decks of guns.
