Napoleon III Gilt Bronze & Porcelain Garniture Set
Bryson & Sons (Scottish, 19th century), Japy Freres (French, 1850-1930). An exceptional Napoleon III Sevres style porcelain garniture set heavily accented with gilt bronze mounts including classical figures, acanthus leaves, and feathered ornaments; the main body to each piece has a deep rich blue ground hand painted with gold bordering, delicate foliate motifs and impressive windows. The garnitures with classical interior scenes and landscapes to their respective versowindows, the main clock having an interior courting scene and a delicately jeweled enamel dial. Marked to dial "Bryson & Sons, Paris", to verso of movement with a Japy Freres medallion, a retailer mark "HP" with several serial numbers,there is also marks to each porcelain panel mostly baring "M. Hirsch Carpenter". Approx: (clock) h. 20", w. 12.75", d. 5.5", (garniture) h. 15.25", w. 6.5". Provenance: From a Private Estate in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition Report: Very minor gilt loss to surface, small embellishments are missing, no chips or cracks to porcelain observed.
