He frequently returns to paint on the very places where Delattre took him. In 1910, he stayed in Brittany, made a few incursions in Paris but it was on the Normandy beaches, especially in Étretat, in the 1920’s, that he painted, his most beautiful seascapes. His only Parisian exhibition took place rue Mareboeuf in 1920; before the one organized in 1969 by the Galerie Watteau. Guilbert is certainly one of the most gifted landscapers in Rouen, with his keen sense of light, his beautiful colours, and his great sensitivity. "Very sensual, very spontaneous, nervous and supple talent, in love with sound and colourful harmonies, he is distinguished by the beauty of his colours, the liveliness and expressiveness of his craftmanship, the beauty of his craft as a painter. He is above all the painter of skies full of light, of golden and purple skies. " Georges Dubosc. #exclusiveartweek
