National War Bonds. 1918.
This anonymous British artist was clearly influenced by Christy's 1917 design, "Fight or Buy Bonds;" (see no. 91) the composition, and even the girl, are nearly identical. But the American flag has been swapped out for the Union Jack, and the infantrymen marching home from the distance are only visible by the silhouettes of their bayonets. National War Bonds were introduced in the UK in 1917, and the banks put enormous effort into advertising, promoting, and selling war bonds—including with posters like this.
