Native Copper Phoenix Mine, Phoenix, Keweenaw Co., Michigan,...
Native Copper Phoenix Mine, Phoenix, Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA "A cluster of copper crystals. I got this specimen when I sold Earl Calvert's collection for the family many years after he died." - Rock H. Currier An architectural sculpture created by Mother Nature: here is a group of sharply defined Native Copper crystals sprouting from a mass of the same composition. The fact that it has a mine name is a big plus, since many Michigan Coppers don't usually have any locality data past "Michigan." There are 8+ clearly defined cubes marching in echelon on a finger of Copper. Overall Measurements: 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.6 inches (4.0 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Ex. Earl Calvert Collection [RHC #6980, acquired 2001] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
