Native Copper after Cuprite Old Dominion Mine, Buffalo...
Native Copper after Cuprite Old Dominion Mine, Buffalo Hill, Old Dominion Vein System, Globe, Globe Hills, Globe Hills District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA "A 4 cm copper specimen with an octahedral copper crystal after cuprite? Got the specimen when I sold the Earl Calvert mineral collection." - Rock H. Currier Not too many of these floating around. Kind of a nice respite from the "Michigan, Michigan, Michigan overload." And it's definitely NOT from the more recent finds from the Rubtsovskiy Mine in Siberia, Russia. This is a decidedly rare specimen - the sort of thing that rounds out a Native Metals collection. Overall Measurements: 1.6 x 1.6 x 1.2 inches (4.0 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Ex. Earl Calvert Collection [RHC #6963, acquired 2000] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
