[ translate ]

Native Copper & Analcime Phoenix Mine, Phoenix, Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA "A 6 cm specimen of crystallized copper growing with well formed white analcime crystals to abut [sic] 2 cm. Bought from Helen Hankey. She used to have a gem and mineral shop for years over on Los Feliz blvd. [sic] in Glendale." - Rock H. Currier Another treasure from a by-gone era. During the 'boom times' of Copper mining in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, specimens such as this one from the Phoenix mine were uncommon but not exotically rare. With the mines being closed now for decades, fine examples have become rare and much sought after. Go ahead and Google "copper analcime" and see what you get: either "Error 404" & "Page Not Found" or "SOLD". Overall Measurements: 2.4 x 1.2 x 1.2 inches (6.0 x 3.0 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Helen Hankey collection [RHC #892, acquired 1967] MinID N8N-1EE [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
