Native Copper and Silver Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, USA 7.4...
Native Copper and Silver Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, USA 7.4 x 5.6 x 3.6 cm (2.91 x 2.2 x 1.42 in) Unlike the more standard brown color most Copper specimens have, the Copper in this piece is composed of lustrous, bright-orange red foils with patches of darker, mildly iridescent patina. Associations of crystallized Silver are isolated throughout the piece, with minor amounts of brilliant white Quartz. While there is not quite enough Silver to call this specimen a "half-breed," the off-set in color between the two native metals and Quartz is no less stunning. Ex. Frederick Fass collection.
