In this work, the artist shows a young woman, who belongs to this Generation Z, in everyday private situations that rarely go undetected due to social media presence. She is under constant observation, which also makes secret viewing and observation, voyeurism, possible.
She aesthetically implements this theme in oil paintings on natural linen. The additionally stretched linen threads form a curtain through which the viewer secretly looks at a scene. The poetic effect of her Secret View series is enhanced by the reduced, broken color palette and the resulting gentle color tone.
Natja Jander is an architect and freelance artist from the city of Bonn in Germany. She has participated in many prestigious exhibitions and won art awards.
