Three other men of this name upon the Admiralty List, a Marine with a 3-clasp Medal, an Able Seaman at Trafalgar and a Marine at Algiers.

John Salter was Master's Mate aboard Northumberland on 22 May 1812 and was promoted Midshipman in time to serve at St. Domingo aboard Superb. His 2-clasp Medal (named as Midshipman) was sold by Spink in September 1992.

This Medal was purchased in around 1995 at the Wakefield Fair from Murray Shaw. Sold as viewed.
