Nayarit Chinesco Seated Nude Male Figure
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A charming, hand-built Chinesco figure shown nude and seated with arms folded together and resting on bent knees. His huge head displays slit-form eyes, a long beak-like nose, and a petite mouth, all surmounted by a head band. Armlets adorn his biceps, while shoulder pellets embellish his square shoulders. The expressionless visage and dramatic forward lean gives the figure a pensive presentation. Size: 4.7" L x 5.3" W x 9.2" H (11.9 cm x 13.5 cm x 23.4 cm)
