Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A near-miniature pottery figure in the "sheep-face" style, with wide eyes and an elongated head and nose, adorned with huge ear spools and a headband. The body is painted with a dark red slip, as well as white dots and lines that may represent tattoos or body paint. The figure suggests that of a pregnant woman, given her pronounced breasts and belly. Size: 2.25" W x 3.5" H (5.7 cm x 8.9 cm)
