West-Central Asia, Bactrian Empire, ca. early 1st millennium BCE. A stunning necklace comprised of beautiful carnelian beads of rounded, shell-like shapes and gorgeous vermilion hues. The beautiful beads are tastefully strung on a red cord resulting in a lovely and wearable necklace! Size of largest stone: 0.75" W x 0.55" H (1.9 cm x 1.4 cm); length of string: 17" L (43.2 cm)

Provenance: ex-private New York, USA collection, acquired at auction
