Necklace with three agate Dzi beads, Liao dynasty
Comprising three large spindle-shaped tubular beads. The central piece is notable for being crafted from green agate adorned with parallel central bands in white and jet, whilst the two olive-green side beads feature a faceted shape that widens towards the centre. Mounted on a braided cord at the back. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
