Needlework Sampler "Margaret Shaw," Mrs. Elmendorf's School, Kingston, Ulster County, New York, 1831, worked in silk threads on a yellow linen ground, composed of alphanumeric lines, a verse, floral and pictorial registers, and two rows indicating the maker's name, age, date, and school, within a repeating border, 15 1/4 x 15 1/4 in. (sight), in a mahogany-grained frame.
