Needlework Sampler

Needlework Sampler, Canterbury, New Hampshire, late 18th century, worked in silk threads on a coarse linen ground, seven alphanumeric rows above an indistinct name "Marie L. Brown(?)," pictorial register typical of Canterbury, New Hampshire, surrounded by a sawtooth border, 17 1/4 x 13 3/4 in. (sight), in a molded giltwood frame.
