Netherlands, Maastricht; W. de Jonge - Maestricht- 1581-1600

Rare city map of Maastricht with defensive work by Leti/De Jonge (1690) , based on the map in the book of cities by Ioan Blaeu. Early version of 'Trajectum ad Mosam vulgo Maestricht'. The cartouches on this copy, are not yet fully completed. On a later version, the top left corner featured the coat of arms of the prince-bishopric of Liège, bottom left was filled with the title cartouche and the bottom right showed a scale indication. A later version was also expanded with the fortifications all around. Very good condition, in early form, not coloured. Centrefold and folded on the left and right, as published. No text on verso.
