Folds are as issued. Sharp prints. Some small holes and tears, mainly in the margins. Outer margins are a little frayed. Back of the sheets: blank. First edition of this monumental French mural map of Zeeland is from 1748. Copy of the map of Zeeland by Visscher-Roman, last edition of the widow Ottens and sons. Le Rouge was a professional military engineer and geographer of the king of France. In the "Nota" on the title cartouche it says that it is amazing that there are no maps of Holland (the VII Provinces) published on multiple sheets of the same scale. In addition to this mural map, Le Rouge also published mural maps of Holland and Brabant. The map was published in ‘L’Atlas général contenant le Détail des quatre Parties du Monde principalement celui de L’Europe’, published by George Louis le Rouge on the Rue des Augustins in Paris, AD 1748. (Total of 9 pages.)
