Exceptional and large netsuke depicting a group of characters including some gods of abundance, a shishi and some wise men all on a large base in the shape of a lotus flower. Refined quality and depth of carving in the overall complexity. Gyokuzan signed in mother of pearl under the base. In very good condition overall, with minimal wear and veining consistent with its age. Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer. Very important note for bidders outside the EU.
