Netsuke - Elephant ivory - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)

Fine manju-netsuke depicting the nice smiley face of Okame; on the reverse side, traditional tambourine It is in excellent general condition with signs of wear and natural ivory veining consistent with age and use. Tiny chip on the inside Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory.
