Netsuke - marine ivory - Tenaga and Ashinaga - signed Shōji (or Masatsugu) 正二 - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868) . Very important note for bidders outside the EU. This item CANNOT be sold outside the EU. Fine netsuke depicting Tanaga and Ashinaga. In good condition overall, with a restoration on the hand and wear consistent with its age. There is some damage on the hand at the top, as shown in the photos. Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer.
