Nice terracotta votive figurine, Eastern Mediterranean
A nice terracotta votive figurine, Eastern Mediterranean, c. 1500 - 1000 BC, perhaps depicting Astarte, with columnar body and flared foot. The head is nicely detailed wearing an intricate headdress, the features well-modeled with large circular eyes and angular nose, the arms are folded with fists clenched at chest, a pair of large bracelets around each wrist. H: 3 7/8 in (9.8cm). A handsome example with nice style and earthen encrustation and mineral deposits. Ex New York private collection.
