Nicola Fabbricatore (1888-1962) - Paesaggio lacustre

Pastel on cardboard measuring 55 x 60 cm including a beautiful contemporary frame, coming from a well-known auction house.
Nicola Fabbricatore was born in Naples on 1 April. 1888. He trained on the landscape painting of G. Casciaro and on the painting of A. Mancini. In 1915-16 he participated in the I National Exhibition in Naples of the Southern Artistic Renaissance Committee. In 1921 F. was present at the I National Biennial Art Exhibition with two pastels and at the I Roman Biennial with the work entitled Winter's Morning. The following year he participated in the Fiorentina Primaverile with a pastel study and sent the portrait My wife to the Venice Biennale. From that year he exhibited continuously at the Biennale until 1938, and then again in 1948. He died in Rome on 15 July 1962 His landscape paintings are based rather on colorful liveliness, linked to the Neapolitan tradition, than on complex techniques.
