Dutch bible double-hemisphere world map with allegorical figure scenes of Europe, Asia, Africa and America in the 4 corners, inset solar charts according to Copernicus and Ptolemy. Engravings including allegorical representations of the continents, native inhabitants and wildlife. Two celestial spheres are displayed in the Eastern Hemisphere: in the lower part of the Western Hemisphere is text describing the discovery of America and subsequent voyages of discovery. Two separate diagrams depict the Ptolemaic and Copernican theories of the solar system. Framed and glazed, Plate size: 30 x 46 cm.
