\Artist: Nicolò Barabino (Genova, 1832 - Firenze, 1891)
Technique: Pencil and white lead on tissue paper\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 31_21. 7_3_cm
Nicolò Barabino (Genoa, 1832 - Florence, 1891) , Study for a historical scene, pencil and white lead on vellum, dimensions approx. 23 x 13 cm, signed in the lower center. This very elegant drawing was certainly born as a preparatory work for the study of poses. It is an example of the most refined and technically precise and analytical production. The pencil is used with the precision of a burin while the pencil and white lead glazes give three-dimensionality to the figures. The work truly represents a beautiful example of Barabino's most classical and academic phase, characterized precisely by the alternation of pencil and white lead, which in this phase are his favorite expressive tools and are always used together. Studies of this type, probably from the same album, were presented at auction by Boetto, Genoa in 2010 (estimate 1500-1700 euros) and by Reiss & Sohn, Germany in 2011 (estimate 400 euros) . The state of conservation of the design is excellent. Only a few tears in the tissue near the edges should be noted, which however do not affect the design. Work with Certificate of Authenticity and Legitimate Origin. The work is shipped by express courier 24/48 hours with INSURANCE. We inform you that in case of SALE ABROAD the shipment can be made only AFTER HAVING OBTAINED THE EXPORT AUTHORIZATION OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURAL HERITAGE (Certificate of Free Movement of Fine Arts) . This practice generally involves a WAIT of about 20 days. At present, due to the measures to contain the Covid 19 epidemic, waiting times could be longer. Shipping costs for abroad include the cost associated with the Fine Arts export practice and any customs procedures. Customers wishing to receive a registered invoice are reminded to provide their TAX CODE for issuing the electronic invoice by sending a message immediately after payment.
