Nika Chernyaeva was born in 1985 in Moscow. Graduated from the sociological faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 2011 she graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art (IPAI), in 2012 she took a painting course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London (grant). In 2015 she graduated from the School "Free Workshops" at MMOMA. She studied at the painting department of the Moscow State Art and Industry Academy. S.G. Stroganov.
In 2010, she was shortlisted for the British Annya Sand Prize for young artists and exhibited in London as part of an exhibition of the competition's finalists. In 2011, she was included in the long-list of the Kuryokhin Prize, in the same year she became the winner of the Martini Art Prize competition. In 2013 she received a grant from the British Council to participate in the NESTA mentoring program. In 2020, she became a resident of the 5th season of the Winzavod Open Studios project. In February 2021, the first solo exhibition of the artist took place in the JART gallery, and in April Forbes Life magazine published her work "Just stop it" on the cover.
