Nino Salvadori Esposito (1918-1998) - Grande scena con chierichetti - NO RESERVE

[ translate ]

Important Italian twentieth century painting by
Italian school

By Nino Salvadori Esposito (1931-2008)

“Great scene with altar boys”

Oil on canvas in a magnificent contemporary frame

DESCRIPTION
The painting can be defined as a genre scene, that is, the representation of an episode of everyday life which, apparently, has no significant element. This type of domestic subject was long considered minor and began to spread in Western art only from the 17th century onwards. Only with the development of nineteenth-century realistic currents were subjects of everyday life considered of the same importance as historical or religious ones.

The painting can be defined as a genre scene not only for the subject, a scene of a popular nature, but also for the objective and highly didactic language that the painter uses. The setting of the work is figurative and Salvadori Esposito shows all his skill in obtaining a perfect realistic rendering in a representation rich in detail. Despite this, the painter does not disdain using a cursive touch, made of rapid flashes, to guarantee greater liveliness and freshness of execution to his work.

Nino Salvadori Esposito is a painter born in 1918 who shows that he has a very classic conception of artistic making, expressed in a figurative language based on a perfect naturalistic rendering. His technique, however, shows traits of pictorialism that make his works quite lively.

The work is of exceptional size, very large and excellently framed and gives the work a notable elegance. The frame is from the early twentieth century in wood with gouache gilding and silvering. The painting is suitable for being placed on a large wall, in a prestigious environment such as a hall, lounge or study. It seems like a work destined for a museum or a foundation precisely because of the proportions and elegance of the features and the narrative of the painting expressed.

The conditions of the work are good
