Biography: Was a Polish American painter, muralist, and educator. Born in ?ebno, Poland, he studied at the Warsaw Academy before continuing his artistic training at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Fine Arts Academy under Charles Schroeder and Oscar Gross. A member of the Polish Art Club, Czarnowski exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and is particularly noted for his mural work, including the decoration of St. Stanislaus B. & M. Church in Chicago in 1928. His career encompassed painting, decorative arts, and teaching, and he is recognized in several major artist reference publications, including Who Was Who in American Art and Davenports Art Reference and Price Guide. Today, Czarnowski is remembered for his contributions to Polish-American art and religious mural painting.
