Norbert Quinn (American, 1902-1987) President Roosevelt in Morocco, Boston Globe newspaper cartoon, 1943 India ink, lithographic crayon, watercolor, and gouache on board 11 x 10 inches (27.9 x 25.4 cm) (image) Signed lower right: Norbert Quinn Norbert Quinn joined the staff of the Boston Globe in the 1920s and served as cartoonist, illustrator and sketch artist until his retirement in the 1960s. In four panels Mr. Quinn presents significant events in President Franklin D. Roosevelt's journey to Morocco to meet with British P.M. Winston Churchill at the Casablanca Conference of January 1943. It began with the flight in the Pan American Dixie Clipper that made FDR the first President to fly while in office.
