On offer is a very beautiful painting by the German School of the 19th century. The image shows the portrait of a presumably noble lady in the finest painting style and wonderful colouring. The work, signed and dated at the bottom left, is located in an oval gold frame with a small chip at the bottom. According to the signature of the work at the bottom left, its painter is Norbert Schrödl (born in 1842 in Vienna - died in 1912 in Kronberg/Taunus) . The son of sculptor and ivory carver Norbert Michael Schrödl, he moved from farm to farm through Europe as a child. Schrödl was a student of M. von Zichy, Jakob Becker and others. He stayed in St. Petersburg, Paris, Berlin, etc. , where he primarily painted portraits and genre scenes. From 1887 Schrödl settled in Kronberg / Taunus and taught Empress Viktoria in Friedrichshof Castle from 1888. The painter, who died there in 1912, has his grave in Frankfurt/Main. The frame is included, but does not belong to the offer because of the risk of transport.
