A North Italian bronze bust of a lady in a cap, early 16th century
Hollow cast bronze with old patina. These small Renaissance bronzes were often based on ancient Roman prototypes discovered during contemporary excavations. An excerpt from an older auction catalogue stuck on to the marble plinth reads: " Venedig, Tullio Lombardi (1455-1532)."
With minor dents and wear. Loosely mounted to a modern marble plinth. Height 11.5 cm.
