Northwest Coast Mask, coastal Salish (Klallam), 19th century, representing Almeqho spirit, hollowed out form, carved from cedar, with a black painted moustache, and eyebrows and a green/red painted band across the eyes, and round pierced eyes, with inscriptions on the back: "Port Angeles, Wash Siwash Indian war dance mask worn by big chief 70 years ago," with inventory number, and metal stand, ht. 12 1/4, lg. 6 1/2, and wd. 6 3/4 in.
