Title page in Latin and, facing, in Amharic, B-Z4, 2A-2Q4, 2R2, B*-Z*4, AA*-ZZ*4, AAA*-DDD*4, DDD*4 [sic]. S*2 and CC*2 incorrectly numbered. Original leather embossed in blind front and rear. New spine, label and endpapers, with hinges professionally tightened. Ex-library, with discard stamp on Amharic title page. No other library markings save for pencil call number top left B1. Amharic title page splitting at gutter for 4.5 inches from head but remains attached. Pencil inscription: C. W. Bradley, Cairo (Egypt) March 4, 1859, to recto of Latin title page. Loss to margin (not of text) to final leaf of text and to the original rear free endpaper. A very good example of the first issue of the complete New Testament in Amharic, preceeded by the four Gospels in 1824; the complete Bible was issued in 1840.
