"Cherophobia" is an oil work on canvas 50x40 cm, signed on the back.

The work is unpublished in 2024 in which material and essential features focus attention in a large face with warm colors that seems to communicate its fragility to us. The face seems to escape us, it is transfigured in an explosion of colors, merging with the background, transporting us into a dreamlike dimension.
The light touch of a hand on the face seems to trigger the explosion.
Cherophobia is a form of anticipatory anxiety that arises from the fear that serenity could somehow make us vulnerable. Behind this phobia there is, in fact, the belief that happiness is a volatile and fleeting state.
