The front side, well-preserved, retains its original colors, despite subtle signs of age and a gentle patina on the white paint layer over the word “OHIO.”
The reverse side, showing more pronounced signs of wear, features softer hues, along with scratches and distortions from regular use.
Like many independent French brands, Stand Ohio Works (headquartered at 28 Rue de Châteaudun in Paris, in association with its factory and refinery located in Ermont in the Val-d’Oise) operated as a trader and distributor.
The company imported its crude base oils (primarily from the U.S.) to blend, process, and package them at its facility in the Île-de-France region, before distributing them under its own brand name.
