Edges of the leaves marbled in blue and red. Curious manuscript note on the endpaper recording the cost of the binding. Frontispiece in two colors: black and red. Engravings by the two Franciscos: Zugni and Zucchi, both masters of engraving and drawing. 60 engravings of size 12x17 are printed in this luxury work, representing the life of the saint. This edition was the most extraordinary of all editions on the hagiography of this saint, who aroused such devotion and astonishment in his time. Many saints and figures of the era are mentioned, listed in an excellent index. The work presents two fantastic engravings of the saint and of the Superior General of the Carmelites Frei Joannes Antonius Guadagni, Cardinal.
