Oaxacan Alebrije Wood Carving Winged Creature

Fantastical multi-headed winged creature sculpture is hand-carved from copal wood and features a vibrant blue polychrome ground decorated with large white and red floral motifs, green foliage, and stippled pink and yellow accents. The construction includes a central deer-like body with multiple detachable components, including six wings and three separate head/neck segments that secure to the body via dowel joints. The undersides and interior joints do not bear any visible signatures, maker's marks, or labels.
