Of Royal Interest: a mid Victorian gold and enamel commemorative locket, to celebrate the recovery of the Prince of Wales from typhoid, the hinged oval bombé form locket, with the City of London coat of arms in red and white enamel, on a blue enamelled ground with 'Committee Royal Reception' to the border, below a silver fleur-de-lys bale, the reverse engraved 'Thanksgiving Day 27th Feb 1872' with a central monogram, the interior with photographs of Queen Victoria and The Prince of Wales, 5.7cm long, 31g gross, on a purple grosgrain ribbon, in a fitted case embossed E. & S. Watson
