The first authentic travel clock was born in Paris at the beginning of the 19th century from the hands of Abraham Louis Bréguet (1747-1823) . The name "officer's pendulum" is linked to its history. It is said that Napoleon, who had almost lost a battle due to the delay of one of his officers, demanded that they take a travel clock with them everywhere. The orders to the various master watchmakers always said in their terms "a pendulum for an officer". That's how the name came to life.
