"The Flight into Egypt"Gorgeous oil on canvas painting with frame. Subject: The episode, told by the Gospel according to Matthew, tells that the Holy Family fled to Egypt after learning that King Herod intended to have children killed in the area. This work depicts Mary, with Jesus Child in her arms, while riding a donkey held by the head collar by Joseph. The background features a beautiful landscape and the wall of a cave. Condition: some restorations and very small colour losses, it has already been relined. After some cleaning it will be a beautiful painting. The antique frame has been adapted with spacers to fit the painting, but has not been cut. Size including frame: 92 x 74 cm. Size without frame 82 x 64 cm
