About the artist: Outstanding Ukrainian painter, master of landscape and still life
Shishko Sergey Fedorovich was born on June 25, 1911 in the village of Nosovka of the Nezhinsky district in the Chernihiv region in the family of a veterinarian. In 1919, he moved with his parents to the city of Nizhyn. Here in elementary school I received the first lessons from the drawing teacher P. Lapa, whom he always remembered with great respect and love. It was this teacher who managed to instill in his student a love of art and helped with the first practical lessons and professional advice, which played a significant role in the development of Sergey Shishko as an artist with his own style.
In 1929-33, Shishko S.F. studied at the Kiev Art Institute with F. Krichevsky. In 1943 he graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Arts, where B. Johanson was his teacher.
People's Artist of Ukraine since 1964.
People's Artist of the USSR since 1974.
In 1982, Shishko S.F. became a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine named after T.G. Shevchenko.
Sergey Fedorovich lived and worked in the city of Kiev.
