On "Ministerio de educated and Culture, National Museum of Arts, Rio de Janeiro."Firstborn of the known Philipp Peter Roos, called "Rose of Tivoli", is formed following a style then in vogue in Rome. Like his contemporaries, such as Domenico Brandi (1684-1736). The artist was born in a family of painters, and quickly develops his painting skills depicting men and animals in an Arcadian climate, developing ideas about the way rural landscapes are dipicted, handed down from his father. The painting in question is one of the few that comes to us signed and dated, in a catalog of somewhat fragmentary works.
