Oil painting on copper birth of baby Jesus - Copper - Late 17th century

An antique oil on copper painting depicting the Adoration of the Kings. Dating from the 17th century, this painting was masterfully created with a complex and refined pictorial technique and thus can be possibly traced back to a Florentine circle. Also the nice use of proportions and the quality of details suggest influences from state of the art schools; this is particularly true of the main characters such as: Child Jesus, Virgin Mary and the King giving his gifts to the newborn baby. In good conservative condition, with some colour losses on the veil of Our Lady, as highlighted by the photographic details. Frame is not coeval but nonetheless antique, and fits well with the painting. Unsigned, as most of the painting of this kind. A rare artwork for its quality, number of characters and colours used.
