Okimono - Bronze - Murata Hiroshi (b. 1936) - Magnificent and elegant horse okimono, marked - Japan - Shōwa period (1926-1989) Here is a remarkable bronze okimono of a horse, made by a recognized artist Murata Hiroshi. Murata Hiroshi is known for his high artistic skills and very fine execution of his works. He was born in 1936. Studied under Murata Yoshio, a Nitten councilor. Worked at the Takaoka City Metal Technology Institute from 1952 until 1968, teaching casting techniques and design to the copperware industry. In 1958, he received prestigious Nitten Award, and continued to participate at Nitten show annualy 6 times since then. Few years later he became one of the judges for Nitten exhibition. In 1964, he won first prize at the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Exhibition and selected several times since then. Including original signed and sealed tomobako. Dimensions: 43 x 9,5 x 30,3 cm weight: 3,4 kg Very good condition, there are minor signs of wear from age and normal use, marks, scratches, stains; please, take a look at pictures for actual condition.
