In 1889, he became a royal artist of the Japanese Empire. In 1893, his works were exhibited at the Chicago World's Fair, and in 1900, his works were exhibited at the Paris World's Fair. He has won numerous awards and is known as a national treasure artist. His works are in the permanent collection of the Tokyo National Museum and the Imperial Museum of Japan!
