Okimono - Elephant ivory - Chinese wiseman holding a goblet and a branch of peaches of immortality - Signed Seizan 清山 - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) Very important note for bidders outside the EU: This item CANNOT be sold outside the EU. Monumental okimono depicting a wiseman standing, holding a peach branch and goblet in his hands. In good overall condition, however a few natural cracks to the ivory, minor restoration on the back of the headdress, restoration to the tip of the foot and pinky finger (all shown in the photos) . Weight: 3,750 g Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer.
