Okimono - Elephant ivory - Ryu dragon supporting Amaterasu Omikami (Sun Goddess) - Signed 'Ryumei' 龍明 - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) . Monobloc ivory okimono with large dragon enveloping and protecting Amaterasu Omikami, the Sun Goddess. Ancient Japanese legends begin with the separation of sky and earth: two deities arise, brother and sister, Izanami and Izanagi, creators of the Japanese islands. Okimono of great charm and excellent and exquisite attention to detail, with the finest details and delicate manufacture, like the headdress and the pendants of the Goddess. Kyoto school. In very good condition - minimal chips along some of the protruding parts and on one tooth of the dragon and on the Goddess's crown. The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped within 1 or at most 2 business days from the day of payment. The shipping price includes delivery via UPS, TNT, DHL or SDA courier (depending on destination address) with full insurance and professional packaging.
